Media 365 is a for profit company, but has for many years worked on projects that impact the community we work in. Below is some of our core community initiatives.

Trendsetters magazine was published in 1997 by the Media 365 founding directors. The award winning lifestyle magazine has a focus on positive message for social change in order for young Zambians to adopt positive lifestyles. Issues addressed in Trendsetters include HIV/AIDS, unplanned pregnancies, goal planning, alcohol and drug use.

Trendsetters won the Global Population Award for Best Team Reporting (previous recipients include CNN and Time Magazine) and was also short listed for the One World Media Awards in the category of Special Award for Development Media.

Trendsetters has diversified into radio and will soon launch both online and TV platforms.

Parallel to Trendsetters was Children’s Press Bureau (CPB). CPB is a unique project that empowers young students with media skills through trainings and placements. These students interested in media are trained to enhance their media skills and then placed with a leading outlet in provinces across Zambia to produce work that is either published or broadcast.

Parent Partnership for Children with Special Needs (PPCSN) is an initiative Media 365 supports as its official charity. The aim of PPCSN is to provide support for parents of children with special needs, an underserved population in Zambia, as well as providing educational and health facilities for the children. Media 365 has helped organise fundraising opportunities for PPCSN including a special screening of GI Joe with support from Paramount Pictures.
